Western Dental is seeking a Director of Marketing to oversee its $16 million annual budget in marketing Western Dental year-round through television, direct mail, internet, yellow pages, and other media.  The Director will work with industry leading media and other organizations, and in consultation with Western’s VP of Marketing, CEO and CFO, in determining and overseeing media investments that include television commercials, direct mail, as well as other forms of mass, local, and specialized advertising and marketing.

The position requires substantial depth and experience in data and financial analysis since media and advertising performance results at Western Dental are measured constantly using numerous tracking and state of the art quantification algorithms and metrics.  Performance measures include analytics generated internally, as well as externally by Western’s media partners.

The position also calls for working with creative personnel and organizations to develop and update Western’s advertising.


The candidate must thus have excellent analytical skills (MBA or strong financial analysis background is required) and proficiency in excel and other analytical applications. Advertising background is not a pre-requisite as the main emphasis of the position is analysis, evaluation, and management.  We are looking for a passionate, think on your feet; think outside the box type of person.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop the annual budget and advertising plan including packaging, pricing and programming strategies for various marketplaces using television, direct mail, radio, and other forms of media.
  • Website development and new media savvy.  Have some level of experience with SEO, PPC and various online marketing tools.
  • Review complex analyses to monitor media performance in order adjust media spend on an ongoing basis.
  • Seek out new cost-effective advertising opportunities, and develop testing techniques to evaluate performance.
  • Develop creative materials for use in various advertising medias.
  • Manage relationships with multiple advertisement agencies.
  • Develop marketing campaigns for numerous geographic regions.
  • Manage public relations programs.
  • Design and manage new marketing initiatives such as affiliated business development programs
  • Seek fresh approach and innovate ideas in every aspect of marketing
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA preferred from an accredited US school.
  • High level of proficiency of EXCEL and other current administrative software for handling tasks in a very efficient manner.

  • Must have the ability to plan and prioritize, and to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Must have the ability to delegate duties to other team members.
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.
